Feb 9                Orientation, Soils, and Site Analysis, Sat. 1-4

Feb 23              Garden Planning 101:  The Year Round Garden, Sat 1-  3

March 9           Waking up the Garden, Sat 1-4

April 13           Composting and Better Garden Management, Sat 1-3

April 27           Composting Outside the Box (Advanced), Sat 1-3

May 11            Honing your Skills and How to Harvest, Sat 1-3

June 13            Summer Garden Maintenance and Planning for the Winter Harvest, Thurs 6:00-8:00

July 11            Hot Weather Planting for Winter Eating, Thurs 6:00-8:00

Aug 8              Growing Seeds for your Garden and Community, Thurs 6:00-8:00

Sept 14            Food Preservation Methods, Sat 1-3

Oct 12             Winterizing your Garden and Tool Maintenance, Saturday 3-5

 

Advanced classes, listed in italic, are supplements to the class series.  These classes are open to the public, and available to Living City subscribers at a discounted rate of $15.  We expect to add more supplemental classes, dates and topics TBA.

Please note:

  1. February 9th class is three hours to allow for orientation, Saturday afternoon, 1-4pm. All other classes are two hours.   Classes start promptly, so please arrive 10 minutes early.
  2. Students may choose to attend either Garden Planning 101 or Advanced Garden Planning – call if you are not sure which to attend.
  3. March, April and May classes are Saturday afternoons, 1 to 3 pm, and summer classes will be Thursday evenings, 6:00 to 8:00 pm.  The October 2013 class is Saturday afternoon, 3 to 5 pm, followed by a harvest party and evaluation session.
